After two brave and kind students publicly supported a fellow classmate who was being bullied in 2007 for wearing a pink shirt, Pink Shirt Day has become an initiative backed world-wide. From Japan to Prince George, Pink Shirt Day has garnered support to end bullying in our schools, workplaces, homes and online.
At Canfor we’re proud to support an inclusive and welcoming workplace for all. We are committed to taking a stand against bullying wherever it occurs. One way we show that support is as a proud sponsor of Big Brother Big Sisters’ Pink Shirt Campaign in Prince George. Last year, BBBS in Prince George had a record Pink Shirt Campaign and we expect the same this year once donations are tallied. T-shirt sales support the organization’s mentoring programs, which are focused on bringing long-term and significant benefits to this important Canfor community.
With thousands of individuals bullied every year, we all play a role in eliminating bullying from our communities. Did you join the #PinkItForward campaign on February 27?
We wish the Pink Shirt Campaign continued success as it grows its’ presence worldwide. We are proud to support this campaign that fosters children’s healthy self-esteem and an inclusive workplace.
