Our approach.
Canfor is committed to the well-being of communities in which we operate. As a significant employer in many of our communities, we seek opportunities to be a force for good, influence positive change and contribute to community resilience by connecting, understanding and collaborating with those who depend on our operations in their communities.
We endeavour to have a positive and productive relationship with our communities through our engagement with Indigenous communities, local governments, suppliers, schools and community service organizations. We do this through community giving, employee involvement, infrastructure investment and skills sharing.
As part of our sustainability commitments, Canfor has a community investment and giving program called Good Things Come From Trees that supports local initiatives and funds major longer-term projects focused on our core areas of health, sustainability, education and community. Our target is to provide $2 million in funding within North America every year.
