  • The Honourable John R. Baird

    John R. Baird, BA (Hons), a former senior Canadian cabinet minister, advises leading companies across various industries. As a key government figure, he strengthened Canada's economic and trade positions and cross-border partnerships. Baird serves as a Senior Business Advisor with Bennett Jones and sits on several corporate boards, including as Chairman of Canfor Corporation and Canfor Pulp Products Inc. since April 2016. His external appointments include the Canadian Pacific Advisory Board, FWD Group Advisory Board, PineBridge Investments Advisory Board, and International Advisory Board of Barrick Gold Corp.

  • Ryan Barrington-Foote

    Ryan Barrington-Foote, BBA (Hons), CPA, is President of The Jim Pattison Group, overseeing several operating divisions. With over 20 years at the company, he previously served as Managing Director, Accounting. He worked at KPMG from 1996-2001, earning his CPA (CA) designation. Barrington-Foote has served on the Just Energy Group board and as Director/Treasurer of Rick Hansen Institute for six years. Named Vancouver's Top 40 Under 40 in 2009, he has been with Canfor Corporation since April 2017; serving as Chair of the Joint Management Resources and Compensation Committee and on the Audit Committee.

  • Glen Clark

    Glen Clark, BA, MCRP, is the former President and COO of The Jim Pattison Group, retiring in 2022 after 20+ years. He previously served as BC Premier (1996-1999) and held cabinet positions including Finance (1991-1993) and Employment and Investment (1993-1996). Clark is currently Chair of BC Hydro's Board of Directors, a position appointed in 2025. He has been with Canfor Corporation since May 2009, serving as Chair for the Corporate Governance Committee, Joint Capital Expenditure Committee, and Joint Environmental, Health and Safety Committee.

  • Craig Armstrong

    Craig Armstrong, BCom (Hons) has more than five decades of experience with the forest industry and has made a tremendous contribution to the growth and evolution of the industry. He held senior positions over 35 years at Millar Western Forest Products Ltd. (“Millar Western”), including as President and CEO until his retirement in 2019. In addition to several senior executive roles with Millar Western, Mr. Armstrong is a former Board member of notable forestry associations and initiatives, and was Chair of the Alberta Forest Products Association (AFPA). His current appointment is with Canfor Pulp Products Inc., since May 2023.

  • Santhe Dahl

    Santhe Dahl is the Chair of Vida, Sweden's largest sawmill production company, and a 70% subsidiary of Canfor. He transformed Vida from a small local sawmill to a global sustainable forest products supplier. After becoming co-owner in 1983, he led numerous major acquisitions of sawmills and wooden packaging factories. He became Vida's majority owner in 2010 until Canfor acquired 70% in 2019. Dahl has served on Sweden's Forest Industries Board for years, including 10 years as President. His current appointment with Canfor Corporation is since May 2023. His external appointments include Chair of Vida and President of Sweden's Forest Industries.

  • Dieter Jentsch

    Dieter W. Jentsch, BSc, MBA, has had a successful 35-year career as an executive in the banking industry. At Bank of Nova Scotia, Mr. Jentsch held numerous senior roles, specializing in Canadian, US and international markets. In addition to being part of Scotiabank’s Operating Committee, he was Group Head of Global Banking and Markets (2016-2018) and Group Head of International Banking (2012-2016). Other prior roles included Executive Vice President Latin America and Executive Vice President Canadian Commercial Banking. His current appointment is with Canfor Corporation and Canfor Pulp Products Inc.

  • Norm Mayr

    Norm Mayr, BSc (Hons), MSc, FCPA, FCA, is an experienced Audit Partner with 38 years at KPMG. With extensive experience managing risk in the audit practice and financial lecturing, he advises KPMG's largest clients across sectors including forestry, mining, technology and industrial markets. He was a founding member of the CICA Accounting Standards Board. His current appointment is with Canfor Pulp Products Inc. since May 2023. External appointments include Trustee and Board Chair of SIR Royalty Income Fund, Director and Audit Committee Chair of Kadestone Capital Corp, and Director and Audit Committee Chair of Sunniva Inc.

  • Conrad Pinette

    Conrad Pinette's work in the Canadian forest industry began 40 years ago as owner and President of a family lumber business, Pinette & Therrien Mills Ltd. He held executive roles with Tolko Industries Ltd. and Riverside Forest Products Limited, and served as President and COO of Lignum Limited for almost 15 years. Pinette held Director positions on several corporate boards and is the former Chairman of Finning International Inc. His current appointment is Director of Canfor Corporation and Canfor Pulp Products Inc. External appointments include Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Prostate Advisory Board.

  • Dallas Ross

    Dallas Ross is General Partner and Founder of Kinetic Capital Partners, guiding investee strategy and value creation. He held Director roles in Investment Banking at Scotia Capital and M&A at Scotia McLeod, managing transactions with The Jim Pattison Group, Rogers Communications and others. His current appointment is with Canfor Corporation since April 2018. Committee memberships include Audit, Joint Environment, Health and Safety, and Joint Management Resources and Compensation Committees. External appointments include Chairman of Rogers Sugar and Lantic, and Chief Financial Officer of Westshore Terminals Investment Corporation & Board.

  • Ross Smith

    Ross Smith, FCPA, FCA had a 35-year career at KPMG with 13 years on the National Management Committee before retiring in 1998. He served major companies, particularly in forestry, providing audit and securities expertise. Smith became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC in 1990 and received a lifetime achievement award in 2010. Currently serves on Canfor Corporation's board (since 2009) as Chair of the Audit Committee and Joint Management Resources Committee. Other roles include Chairman of Kal Tire Holdings, K-Bro Linen, N&T Properties, and Board Member for Rotherham Holdings and Marsh Canada Limited Advisory Boards.

  • Fred Stimpson

    Fred Stimpson is a career executive in the forestry sector, having served as the President of Canfor Southern Pine prior to his retirement in 2020. Early in his career, Mr. Stimpson worked with Gulf Lumber Company in various roles including President (1988-2009). He joined Canfor through the acquisition of Scotch Gulf Lumber in 2013, where he held the role of CEO. He helped the company expand from just four mills to 15 operations. Mr. Stimpson continues to work with Canfor in an advisory capacity, supporting the company’s continued growth efforts. His current appointment is with Canfor Corporation since April 2021.

  • William Stinson

    William Stinson is a fourth-generation railroader and former Chairman/CEO of Canadian Pacific Railway. He guided key acquisitions while focusing on CPR's core business. Previous roles include Chairman of Sun Life Financial, Chairman of United Dominion Industries' Executive Committee, and Lead Director of CHC Helicopters. Current appointments: Canfor Corporation, Canfor Pulp Products (committees: Audit, Capital Expenditure, Environment/Health/Safety, Management Resources), and Chairman/CEO of Westshore Terminals Investment Corporation.

  • Sandra Stuart

    Sandra Stuart, BA had a 40-year international banking career, including President/CEO of HSBC Bank Canada. Community involvement includes Business Council of Canada, Pathways to Education, and United Way. Recognized as one of Canada's Most Powerful Women (2014), Deloitte Inclusion Vanguard Award (2016), and Catalyst Canada Honours Champion (2019). Current boards: Canfor Corporation, Canfor Pulp Products, Belkorp Industries, DRI Healthcare Trust, and HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt.

  • Dianne Watts

    Dianne Watts served as Mayor of Surrey and MP for South Surrey-White Rock (2015-2017). Board experience includes PRIMECorp and Metro Vancouver. Holds honorary doctorates from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Justice Institute of BC. Named Iconic Leader by Women's Economic Forum (2018) and one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women (Top 100) in 2014 and was awarded the inaugural Deloitte Inclusion Vanguard Award by the Women’s Executive Network in 2016. Currently serves on Canfor Corporation board and Joint Environmental, Health and Safety Committee.

Corporate governance.

At Canfor, we place a strong emphasis on corporate governance. Our Board of Directors oversees the management of the company in alignment with Canfor’s Corporate Governance Manual and established governance practices. The Board includes 15 Directors with experience in business management, legal, finance and other relevant fields. Their diverse backgrounds and qualifications support independent oversight in the interests of shareholders and stakeholders.
