Our approach.

One of our company values is “Safety comes first”. This is at the core of who we are and how we work. Canfor is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for employees and others who provide services at our work sites. Our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs establish common safety goals and targets, standardize safety elements across our North American operations, and outline roles and responsibilities for our work sites. The OHS programs consist of four pillars: Safety Policy, Safety Risk Management, Safety Assurance, and Safety Promotion and Training. We also have a contractor safety program to check compliance with our safety policies and programs.

Investments in programs that support employee health and wellness are a priority at Canfor. Along with our comprehensive benefits package for full-time and part-time employees, our Employee and Family Assistance Program provides resources to support anyone who works for Canfor, as well as their household family members. We conduct numerous targeted health and wellness campaigns throughout the year, on topics such as financial wellness and mental health.
