Our responsible forestry practices.

In the US and Sweden, we purchase timber from private landowners and fibre suppliers, using chain of custody programs and promoting sustainable forest management. We work closely with suppliers to raise awareness and communicate our sustainability expectations. In Canada, most of our fibre comes from forests we manage, with some sourced from public and private lands. We track fibre from harvest through production to finished product. Our procurement is certified to chain of custody and fibre sourcing standards and we support education on sustainable forestry.

Canfor Southern Pine is proud to partner with private landowners across the US South who are interested in selling timber.

Our experienced, licensed foresters and timber buyers work directly with landowners—typically those with 20 to 40 acres or more—to offer competitive bids and help maximize timber value. We're committed to increasing the amount of fibre we source from certified lands and supporting landowners in adopting sustainable forestry practices.

This includes providing guidance on Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) and American Tree Farm System® certification, training our foresters as tree farm inspectors and participating in state-level SFI Implementation Committees.
