Our approach.
At Canfor, we work to use all parts of the log. This work is guided by government regulations and sustainable forest management. Residuals management starts in the forests, where we assess logs for their specifications and determine their best use while carefully considering what to leave behind, such as organic material that can benefit biodiversity during regrowth.
As the logs are processed in our pulp mills and sawmills, various types of residual materials are generated. We work to maximize the utilization of the residuals, identifying their highest value and application.
