Katy is the Senior Vice President, People at Canfor, leading the company’s global people strategy. Katy provides strategic and operational leadership for Canfor’s Human Resources function, overseeing shared services, talent development, total rewards, learning and development and workforce planning.
Recognized for her impactful leadership, Katy was named the 2020 HR Leader of the Year at the Canadian HR Awards and was a 2021 nominee for the YWCA of Metro Vancouver’s Women of Distinction Awards.
Katy has over two decades of experience in leading transformative change and managing large, dynamic teams across both the public and private sectors. Her career includes leadership roles at BC Hydro, UBC, and the Township of Langley. Additionally, she shared her knowledge as a sessional instructor at Langara College. Katy holds a Master’s in Sports Administration from Temple University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Stockton University.
Beyond her role at Canfor, Katy is a board director for British Columbia Rapid Transit Company and has served as a director at large with the BC Chamber of Commerce board. She is also a dedicated volunteer, contributing her time to support local youth sports organizations.
