A walk through Vida's Borgstena.

Vida’s sawmill in Borgstena saws and planes spruce timber for use as structural timber and for roof trusses, with the primary market being the UK.

Building Vida's largest sawmill.

Canfor’s Vida operations in Sweden feature 12 technologically advanced sawmills strategically positioned close to sustainable forests.

Vida Borgstena is now the largest sawmill, although this was not always the case. Through innovation, extensive investment in technology, and an increased workforce, Borgstena, Sweden recently completed a massive increase in production from 190 million board feet annually to nearly 265 million.

A year of learning.

The transition to scale up annual production by 40%was a large challenge for employees, who worked together to adapt to new equipment and processes. Twenty-five new employees were added to the team and given extensive training to help meet the challenge.

Looking to the future.

Vida Borgstena is now producing volumes that have never been seen before at the sawmill. Annual production is expected to be close to 250 million board feet, an important step towards the 265 million board feet planned for the coming years.

Vida Borgstena is not only our Vida operation's largest sawmill, but also a symbol of the company's ambitions and capacity to meet the demands of the future. With strong commitment and innovative work, the future is bright in Sweden.
