Canfor is once again proud to be a silver sponsor of Earth Rangers, extending the reach of this dynamic kids’ conservation program to schools in two of our operating communities – Grande Prairie and Fort St. John.
Earth Rangers brings live animals into schools as part of an interactive demonstration so students in Grades 1 to 6 learn more about biodiversity. The presentation inspires them to adopt sustainable behaviours, involves them in projects to protect animals and their habitat, and gives them the confidence they need to make a difference.
The program went to four elementary schools in Grande Prairie in May and is heading to three schools in Fort St. John schools on Sept. 12, 14 and 15. At both stops, foresters from Canfor talked to the students about forests and the many ways Canfor is protecting animals and their habitat.
