While opening the morning newspaper isn’t always an uplifting affair, this week I was pleased to see Canfor’s name published in the Vancouver Sun as one of BC’s top employers.

As one of the largest employers on the list of companies, it’s clear to me that this business owes its strength to our many employees: from the foresters, to the workers on the mill floor, to the engineers and millwrights who keep everything running smoothly.
We try to make sure that every employee has the support they need to be successful and rewarded by their outstanding work, whether it be through our investment in continuing education, or engagement programs that involve all levels of the company in our success.
I’ve always been most proud of our industry-leading safety record, and I’m confident in saying that the safety of our employees will always be first and foremost in our minds as an employer.
I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to the Canada’s Top Employers organization for their recognition. Even more importantly, I thank the tireless staff at Canfor and Canfor Pulp for their continued commitment to our organizations.
