About 60% of the employees working in Canfor’s lumber operations are covered by collective agreements with United Steelworkers (USW), Pulp, Paper and Woodworkers of Canada (PPWC) and UNIFOR, a new Canadian labour union resulting from the merger of the Canadian Auto Workers union (CAW) and the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP). In December 2013, we reached an agreement with the USW covering many of our operations in British Columbia. It expires on July 1, 2018.
About 90% of the hourly employees of Canfor Pulp are covered by collective agreements with UNIFOR and PPWC, which were ratified in 2012 and expire on April 30, 2017.
