Canfor’s Refreshed Core Values

Core Values
Earlier this year, a group of Canfor employees undertook an important exercise to review our company’s Core Values. Canfor has undergone considerable growth over the past several years and as a result, we felt it was important to revisit our values and ensure they best reflected our business, brand and culture today.

The project involved interviews with employees throughout the company – from on-the-floor employees up to senior management – to find out what principles were most important to them and what they value about the Canfor culture. After a lot of interviews, reviewing comments and finalizing employee input, we are proud to share Canfor’s refreshed Core Values.

Canfor’s Core Values:

  1. Safety comes first.
  2. We succeed when our customers succeed.
  3. We are resilient and resourceful. We always find a way forward.
  4. We are a good neighbour in our communities and a responsible steward to the environment.
  5. We demonstrate integrity by doing what we say we are going to do.

I’m very proud to stand behind these values. They are the foundation of our company; they help guide business decisions and also represent who we are, what we’re about and what makes Canfor a great place to work.

We also produced a short video that provides more information on the project undertaken to refresh our core values and includes interviews with several executives – including me – who each explain what each of these Core Values mean to Canfor.

Thank you to our employees who participated in the interviews and together helped shaped these outstanding values.
