As part of our commitment to sustainable forest management, Canfor provides support to organizations that focus on wildlife and animals. We’re also big fans of organizations that benefit children and youth. That’s why supporting Earth Rangers is a great fit for a Canfor sponsorship; Earth Rangers provides children with the opportunity to protect animals, improve the environment and ultimately make a difference.
This year, Canfor signed on as a silver sponsor of Earth Rangers, which made it possible for Earth Rangers to visit seven schools in two of Canfor’s operating communities.
Earlier this year, Earth Rangers visited four elementary schools in Prince George and were joined by Canfor foresters who shared with the students some information about Canfor’s commitment to habitat protection, sustainability and why we’re interested in protecting animals. During the interactive presentations, students were able to see first-hand a skunk, a lizard and several other animals, while learning what they can do to help protect all animals.
Next up, the Earth Rangers crew, along with Canfor foresters, will visit three Cranbrook schools this fall. With Canfor’s support, Earth Rangers will help even more children learn more about this valuable organization and what they can do as individuals to help animals and the environment.
One student in Prince George was invited up to interact with a lizard.
The four interactive sessions held in Prince George were a great success. Canfor looks forward to bringing Earth Rangers to three schools in Cranbrook, scheduled for this fall.
