Canfor was honoured to partner with Schweighofer in support of global innovation in forestry. As the first North American participant in the prestigious Schweighofer Innovation Prize, Canfor sponsored 10 researchers from universities across North America to attend the Schweighofer Prize ceremony and participate in the innovation workshop. Canfor co-sponsored the workshop which brought together forestry, wood science and technology students to network and cross-innovate.
Canfor is committed to mentoring the next generation of sustainability-minded forestry leaders and with our involvement in the Schweighofer Prize, we were proud to be a part of the celebration that recognized young innovators in our industry.
The Schweighofer Prize is awarded every two years and this year’s event took place June 15-16 in Vienna, Austria.
